SRINAGAR—To support tertiary-level cancer care services within the Jammu and Kashmir State, the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India, has formally authorized Rs. Twenty-crore State Cancer Institute at Government Medical College Jammu.
One State Cancer Institute was accepted for SKIMS, Soura in Srinagar, for which the first supply-in-useful resource of Rs. Forty-seven. Twenty-five crores have already been released.
“For SCI at GMC Jammu, the Government of India has sanctioned finances worth Rs. 43 crore for the motive. It said one hundred-bedded facility had been proposed for established order underneath center subsidized schemes with services including Radiation Oncology, Medical Oncology, Surgical Oncology, ICU, Palliative Care Services, Cancer Rehabilitation Services, Cancer Psychiatry Services, Comprehensive Cancer Diagnostic Services which includes Preventive Oncology, Dedicated MR Scan (MRI), Dedicated Mammography, PET Scan, Comprehensive laboratory services for most cancers diagnosis including Cancer Cytogenetics, immune-histochemistry and all radiological facilities needed for oncology.
“Moreover, a high-quit device like a linear accelerator, PET Scan, Brachytherapy, 4D CT Simulator, and upgradation of Pathology Lab, Cobalt Radiation Source, Conventional Simulator, etc. would additionally be taken up under this scheme, which might certainly provide a boost to the offerings being supplied to cancer patients,” the assertion said.
