Refinery29: What stimulated Sew Squad?
Zoey Washington: I used to like making my add-ons when I was younger, from an easy tote to a makeup bag to smooth tanks. But when I became more youthful, nothing that spoke to me was available on the market. Sewing patterns are made for dressmakers. They’re so complicated...Most are written for experienced sewers and are riddled with enterprise phrases and intricate markings that, quite frankly, zapped all the creativity out of the method.
The crafting, sewing, and DIY enterprise simply did not consider keeping up with what was influencing style. I evolved SewSquad so that everyone can open up their bag of a laugh and create something fantastic, unique, and straightforward in a few short hours without feeling like they need a complicated degree in stitching. I am so pleased with this line of easy-to-use, laugh-to-put-on stitching initiatives.
