Union calls on Brent councillors to convey cleaning offerings in-residence

The union GMB has offered their assistance in the form of pointers for Brent Council to bring their cleaning services back in-residence.

Wetton’s Cleaning Services Limited presently smokes housing estates across the borough after being offered the contract in 2013 by Brent Housing Partnership.

An assessment has discovered that the great carriers, such as the responsiveness to proceedings and the joint working with other contractors, are ‘poor’.

‘If Cabinet decides to carry the carrier back in the house, it will give tenants and leaseholders much more control over the provider they pay for, as we are committed to growing a resident-led system that works well for everyone.’

Krissy O’Hagan, GMB regional officer, said the union supported the recommendations and called the council to take over cleaning offerings.

‘After ten years of minimum salary and bad phrases and conditions under Wetton’s Cleaning Services, our difficult operating participants deserve better; bringing the service lower back in-residence will accurate this pay inequality and enhance running conditions,’ she said.

‘Brent Council is committed to bringing offerings lower back in the house, and GMB asks that this dedication be honored and that they do the proper issue!’
